Welcome to Video Business in a Box. Over the next 30 days you will choose a video business model, pick a niche, set up an AI-powered production stack, brand and launch your channel or service, publish your first batch of content and put real ways to earn in place. This lesson shows you how the course works and what is waiting inside the box.

Why build a video business?

Video is where a huge share of attention lives right now: long-form on YouTube and connected TVs, short-form on phones, audio and video podcasts on commutes and at the gym. Businesses know it too, which is why so many of them need help making and posting content.

A video business is not just “posting clips.” It is a library of content that keeps getting discovered, an audience that trusts you, and a handful of revenue streams on top: platform payouts, affiliates, sponsors, your own products and services. None of that is automatic, and none of it is guaranteed. But every video you publish is an asset that can keep working after you hit upload.

The four models in the box

YouTube long-form

Searchable, evergreen videos, on-camera or faceless. See the YouTube channel guide.

Short-form video

Shorts, TikTok and Reels built for speed and reach. See short-form video.

Podcasting

Audio or video shows built on depth and loyalty. See podcasting.

Social media management

Make and manage content for local businesses and brands. See the social media agency guide.

You will pick one primary model in the next lesson. Every later lesson includes notes for each model so you can follow your own path.

How to get the most from this course

  1. Block a daily production hour. Put 45 to 60 minutes on your calendar for the next 30 days. Consistency beats marathon weekends, and video rewards reps.
  2. Start a launch journal. A simple doc or notebook where you record decisions, ideas, links, logins and what you shipped each day. You will reuse it constantly.
  3. Do the action step before the next lesson. Each lesson ends with one concrete homework task. If you skip it, the next lesson will feel abstract.
  4. Use AI as a crew, not a replacement. AI can draft, cut, caption and brainstorm. Your taste, your experience and your voice are what make viewers stay.
  5. Ship before it is perfect. Your first ten videos will be your worst ten videos. That is the point. Publish, learn, improve.

What “done” looks like on Day 30

  • A chosen model and a clear niche statement
  • A branded channel, show or service page
  • A 30-video plan with several videos published or scheduled
  • A repurposing workflow that turns one video into many posts
  • At least one revenue path set up or in progress
  • A simple weekly system you can keep running
Honest expectations: Most channels grow slowly, and results vary widely by niche, format and effort. This course gives you a strong launch and a repeatable system, not guaranteed views, followers or income.

Use AI to set your intention

Before the next lesson, have an AI assistant help you clarify why you are here. Paste this prompt into your favorite chat tool.

AI Prompt

I'm starting a 30-day course to launch a video business. My background: [your job, skills, hobbies]. My available time: [hours per week]. My comfort on camera: [comfortable / nervous / prefer faceless]. My main goal: [side income / full-time creator / client agency / build authority for my business].

Ask me 5 clarifying questions, one at a time. Then summarize my strengths, constraints and the two video business models that seem the best fit, with one honest risk for each.

If you want a faster start, skim Start Here and the post on how to start a video business in 2026.

Your Action Step: Create your launch journal today. Add three things: (1) your daily production hour on the calendar for the next 30 days, (2) your answers from the AI prompt above, and (3) links to three channels, shows or agencies you admire and one sentence on why each works for you.

Next up: Choose Your Video Business Model.
