Resources and Favorite Links

A hand-picked directory of the platforms, editors, AI tools, music libraries and schedulers we use to build video businesses.

This is the toolbox we keep coming back to. Every link below goes to a real, well-known resource that creators use every day, organized by the job it does. You don’t need all of them. Pick one tool per category, learn it well and ship videos.

How to read this page: ⭐ Box Favorite marks the eight tools we’d hand a brand-new creator first. Prices, features and free tiers change often, so check each site for current details.

Disclosure: Some links on this site may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only list tools we’d recommend anyway. See our affiliate disclosure.

ChatGPT Brainstorming, outlining and rewriting at speed.
Claude Long-form thinking partner for scripts, research summaries and editing your own drafts.
Gemini Google’s assistant, handy if you already live in Google Workspace.
Perplexity Answer-engine research with cited sources. Always verify the sources before you use them.
ElevenLabs AI voice and dubbing. Only clone voices you have consent to use.
HeyGen AI avatars and video translation. Disclose synthetic content where platforms require it.
Runway Generative video and AI editing tools for B-roll and visual experiments.

How we choose what goes on this page

  • It’s widely used and well established, not a flash-in-the-pan launch
  • It solves a real job in the video workflow
  • It has a free plan, a free trial or clear value for the price
  • It respects creators: clear licensing, clear terms and clear AI disclosure options where relevant
  • We’d recommend it to a friend even if no affiliate program existed

Quick answers

Do I need paid tools to start? No. A phone, a free editor, a free design tool and YouTube Studio can take you a long way. Upgrade only when a specific bottleneck is costing you real time.

Which AI tool is best? The one you’ll actually use well. Most creators pick one general assistant and learn to write great prompts for it. Our Prompt Library gives you a head start.

Can I use AI voices and avatars? Yes, with care. Get consent for any voice or likeness you clone, disclose realistic synthetic content where platforms require it, and make sure the video adds genuine value.

Is free music safe to use? Only if its license covers how you’re using it. Read the terms for every track, and keep records of your licenses.

What’s in the box: Start with one editor, one design tool, one AI assistant and one email tool. You can add the rest once you know what’s slowing you down. Our free tools fill a lot of the gaps.
